Unless you have a strict daily riding schedule, it’s hard to imagine riding 70 miles. It’s a long ride that requires a lot of energy and frankly, it’s longer than most rides or commutes. It’s also hard to imagine riding in any way that is comfortable. Riding that distance casually seems to take a long time. That is, unless you hitch a ride on an e-bike or e-bike for short. Heybike recently announced some upgrades to its latest e-bike models, and guess what, you can ride anywhere from 55 miles to 70 miles with pedal assistance. Thanks to the bike’s electric capabilities, those long trips we talked about can be more leisurely and enjoyable.
The Heybike Explore Step-Thru Fat Tire electric bike, the model in question, also has a front shock fork upgrade for a more stable ride over a variety of terrain types. Better stability with wide tires measuring 4″ x 26″. Everywhere you go, we’re talking insanely smooth rides. Plus, the bike comes with a 48-volt, 20-amp-hour battery and is completely removable – making it easy to remove and charge at home or in the office. The battery powers a 750-watt motor that provides speed and support during the ride. All in all, you can reach a top speed of 28 miles per hour for relatively fast rides or long rides, as you go.
Strong battery? Check it out. Powerful motor? Check it out. Wide tires and front shock forks? Check it out. These are all welcome changes, but of course, they’re not the only new features. Heybike Explore also comes with a new twist-grip throttle that makes it easier to step on the gas and keep your speed consistent, especially on tougher trails. All it takes is a quick twist to get started! If the ride gets bumpy, you can still maintain excellent control to fine-tune your speed and movement. The LCD in the middle of the handlebar tells you important details like how fast you’re going, how far you’re going, and battery life.

The Explore can handle a maximum weight load of up to 330 pounds, and there’s a rack on top of the rear wheel to store bags and other items – you’ll need to protect them first! You can also order front baskets, saddlebags and other storage units alongside the bike. The battery takes six to seven hours to fully charge, but since it’s removable, you can take it with you when you’re parked. If you’re at work, you can charge it at the office wherever you go – like a coffee shop – or at home. It’s convenient and provides plenty of power for a 70-mile trip with pedal assist enabled.
Heybike’s Explore is available now for $1,699. They’re also offering a special deal right now where if you buy two bikes, you’ll get a free saddlebag – a $79 value. To take advantage of the offer, simply add two bikes and a saddlebag to your cart. Ultimately, this is a great option for recreational riders who want to travel long distances and go off-road, or for those who just want a smoother, more comfortable bike ride.
